Centre for Australian Literary Cultures

The Centre for Australian Literary Cultures (CALC) brings together scholarly and creative researchers and practitioners at ANU and beyond who are focused on the role of reading, writing and publishing in our ever-evolving media ecology. CALC honours the foundational role of Australian literature at the ANU while advancing understanding of the nature, techniques and impacts of literature and other networked media, in Australia and globally.

CALC hosts two of Australia’s most high-profile humanities’ journals. Australian Humanities Review, an interdisciplinary journal in the critical humanities, is edited by CALC co-director Monique Rooney. Australian Literary Studies, is the nation’s foremost literary journal, and is co-edited by CALC member Julieanne Lamond with Tanya Dalziell.
